Facebook is the target of investigations in Ireland, where its European headquarters, for alleged violation of laws to protect users’ data, said the “Financial Times” on Friday (30).

The newspaper said the activities of the social network outside the United States and Canada will be reviewed after complaints from privacy advocacy groups.

The groups say they are concerned about how the social network shares on the user’s activities, as well as trace level of the records left by the navigation users.

The “Financial Times” reports that Gary Davis, Irish Commissioner for Data Protection, said his office will conduct a detailed analysis of the group’s activities.

“The investigation will also examine whether Facebook complies with data protection laws of Ireland,” he said.

The timelines, company whose Web site allows people to record and share personal or historical events, the new tool claims that Facebook can get to eliminate it from your business.

“Given the size and scope of Facebook, the use of the mark by Timeline Timelines eliminate the social network and leave the public with the impression that the company is somehow affiliated with Facebook,” the lawsuit says, according to the blog.

TechCrunch says the lawsuit also states that Facebook took you the URL / timelines, which was previously used as a home page of the Chicago company.
