Mozilla has just released Thunderbird 8 Beta version. Thunderbird is a popular email client offered by Mozilla. It is free, and a good alternative to Microsoft Outlook.

This Thunderbird version 8 does not have any major improvement over previous versions. It primarily disables 3rd party add-on installs by default. Apart from that, there are some UI and platform fixes.

Facebook is processed by use of the mark ‘Timeline’, says site

New page name coincides with the user company in Chicago. 
Function was announced in the last 22 days, at a conference on Facebook.

Facebook is being sued by a Chicago company for use of the mark ‘Timeline’, according to TechCrunch. The social network announced oa new user’s personal page, a sort of timeline, in the last 22 days and named it “Timeline” .

The timelines, company whose Web site allows people to record and share personal or historical events, the new tool claims that Facebook can get to eliminate it from your business.

“Given the size and scope of Facebook, the use of the mark by Timeline Timelines eliminate the social network and leave the public with the impression that the company is somehow affiliated with Facebook,” the lawsuit says, according to the blog.

TechCrunch says the lawsuit also states that Facebook took you the URL / timelines, which was previously used as a home page of the Chicago company.

Nokia will cut 3,500 jobs and close factories in Europe

Nokia announced plans to cut 3,500 jobs by the end of 2012 to adjust its workforce and operations. This is the second major restructuring in six months the company , which faces declining sales and profit. The Finnish company will close the factory that opened four years ago in Cluj, Romania, and cut with it, 2.2 million jobs. The unit cell produces simpler than smartphones. Nokia also announced cut of 1,300 jobs in the service unit that includes digital mapping, Navteq.

Industrial operations in Salo, Finland, Komaron, Hungary, and Reynosa, Mexico, will be subject to review, with the intention to shift the focus to customers and software. The cuts on Thursday (29) are part of a plan to save more than 1 billion euros, revealed in July.

Microsoft and Samsung sign patent agreement

Microsoft announced on Wednesday (28) one of the largest patent-related business to Android. The agreement with Samsung provides a cross-license patents from both companies. Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will receive the right to use the mark related to smartphones and tablet equipped with Samsung’s Android platform. In addition, the companies will cooperate in developing and marketing Windows Phone.

Google + site becomes the 8th most visited U.S. social, survey says

After social networking site has grown to be open to all interested parties. 
Analysis showed an increase of 1,269% in the number of visits in a week.

The Google site + became the 8th most popular social networking site in the United States in just four days after opening the social network for all interested parties. The data were published by Heather Dougherty, a researcher at Hitwise.

According to Dougherty, the site was ranked 54 in the period prior to opening. On the last day on September 20, Google + has become a social network open to all – rather, it was necessary to have an invitation.

Besides the popularity, the site of the network “has emerged as the third largest category in Social Networks and Forums in the U.S.,” says Dougherty. “Just one day after the site was opened.”

The analysis of the survey also showed that there was a growth of 1,269% in the number of visits to Google this week that ended on Sept. 17 that ended on the 24th.
