Users download an average of 83 applications per year for the platforms.

IOS users of appliances iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, are buying more applications for these platforms that use the virtual store App Store than a year ago. According to a study by consulting firm Piper Jaffray, the increase in the purchase of the programs will be increased about 61% in 2011.

The average download per user, according to the company, applications will be 83 this year.Still, the platform owners are paying more for the programs, which increased 14% in 2011 after a reduction of 18% in 2010.

The firm says the increase in sales value of the applications takes place due to the increase in demand for these programs for the iPad, which are more expensive than the iPhone, for example. Piper Jaffray notes that their numbers are not official, since Apple does not disclose data on the sale of applications.

On Thursday (7), Apple announced the sale of more than 15 billion applications in the three years since the launch of the App Store in July 2008. In January 2011, the company reached the milestone of 10 billion applications sold through its online store. The company also announced that $ 2.5 billion was paid to application developers so far.
