India officially launches the world’s cheapest tablet PC


India has caught the world’s attention yet another time with the launch of its much awaited Aakash tablet. This tablet, which is touted as the world’s cheapest, has been in the news for quite some time. Finally, the Government of India and the tablet manufacturer Datawind have jointly announced the launch of Aakash tablet.

With the official launch, the Aakash tablet has become the world’s cheapest tablet PC with a price as low as $35.  The students of India, especially the economically backward section of the students is going to get this tablet for $35, as the government subsidizes some amount.

The commercial variant of this tablet, which will be available for the normal public from November, is priced around $50, which isn’t a bad deal at all!

Mozilla releases a first version of the Firefox browser for tablets

Program is compatible with systems running Android 3.0. 
Release date of the final browser has not been disclosed.

The Mozilla Foundation, responsible for the development of free open source browser Firefox, has released the first version for testing the tablet version of the program.

The browser is compatible as tablets that run the Android operating system 3.0 (Honeycomb), such as Motorola and Samsung Xoom Galaxy Tab 10.1.
